Changing things up

I've decided I want to change up my blog a little bit, but I'm at a loss for inspiration. One of my favorite bloggers (http://annie-shrinkinggirl.blogspot.com/) has a cool little rotation she follows, like Weigh-In Wednesdays, Motivational Mondays, etc. I definitely don't want to copy her format, but I want to do something a bit different... any ideas? Anything you want to try to do but don't have time to do it? I can be your guinea pig!

My only thought so far is my quest to learn about foods the reduce inflammation. There are so many out there, and nobody knows what to do with some of them. I could always highlight some of those foods here and there and how to incorporate them into your diets. Hmm....

Not sure about that one, so I'll continue searching for the idea I need to spice up the blog... until then, I shall continue working out and writing about my journey!

  1. Hey Girl! Been missin you...but that's my fault. Never have time for reading blogs these days...grr..
Anyway, came over to check u out. I do love Annie's blog...but personally I have found that trying to stick to a "schedule" with my blogging just puts more unneeded pressure on me. I have so many different things going on that to add one more thing I have to do a certain way on a certain day just stresses me out. If you can swing it though...more power to ya! I love your blog and your posts. Not too long, very witty and full of your personality (which I love!)
You are SOOOO rocking Insanity! I wish I was doing it with you. I just can't do it and teach all these fitness classes at the gym too. Guess I'll do it in Dec. or Jan. when my classes are over. (this is just a temporary job).
    Talk to you again soon!
Keep up the AWESOME work! Can't wait to see your after pictures!

  2. Hey girl! Nothing wrong with changing things up. I know a little about reducing inflammation because at one point they thought my daughter had Lupus-which is classified as an inflamation disorder. So off the top of my head...foods that increase inflammation:

    -sugar
-soy (alot of people think it's really healthy, but it's highly acidic and harsh on your system)
-processed foods, because they contain "crap" ingredients
    -dairy
    -red meat
    -gluten

I know there is more, but foods that reduce inflammation off the top of my head are:

    -nuts
    -beans
-instead of milk try rice or almond milk
    -stevia for sweetner
    -fruits
    -veggies
-fish (partly in due to omega 3's. These are HIGHLY antiinflamatory, particularly wild caught salmon. Also, DHA supp's are VERY effective at reducing inflammation.

There are great articles out there that have antiinflammatory recipes, and gluten free recipes. Celiac disease is a popular one that alot of people have and don't even know it. Try cutting out gluten and see how things "feel" for you. Even if you don't have the disorder, everyone benefits from gluten free.

    Hope that helps!

    Demi

  3. Thanks for the shot out! Like Jen said, even thought I'm on a "blog schedule", I don't alwayd so it because I don't want my blog to become something I have to do. Right now it's something I love to do.

But keep it simple and just do what you want. I think it's a fantastic idea to start talking about foods that interests you. Especially if it'll help you later on down the road. When you want to read up about it, just look it up in your blog!
