Today was the second week of phase 2, and it started out quite well! I read my daily horoscope, which I know is odd to some people. I find it entertaining, and sometimes, depending on my mood that day, it can be inspiring! This was today:
"For one brief, shining moment, it may all make sense - who you are, and why you are where you are. Revel in the clarity, and stockpile some for later."
I love it! Whether it's real or not, it's great! And I'm going to take that with me all day...
Today's workout was the Chest, Tri, etc. extravaganza! My one arm "pushups" are seriously improving! I'm no longer frightened I'll crash down onto my face and lose some teeth. I might even say I do them as well as the woman in the video. She hardly does them, and now I do the same! :) It definitely makes me feel stronger.
Not sure if I had other workout-related shining moments today... it went well, and I burned 720 calories! Woo hoo!
Off to school for a looooooooong day! I'm making my dinner right now, actually so I don't have to buy junk. This is one of my favorite lazy meals ever!
1 cup of brown rice (cook according to directions - I like using broth instead of water so it tastes better)
1 can of black beans (I remove the "liquid" cause I think it's salty and gross)
1 can of Rotel
little bit of salt and pepper
some cumin, maybe a little cayenne or chili powder
Yummy! And healthy!
Have a great one! Bring IT!

Week 2 begins!
I just finished up my second time doing Chest & Back plus Ab Ripper X. It went much better today! I concentrated on keeping my neck in the proper place during my pushups. I'm thinking that for next time I'm going to really focus on my back muscles when I'm doing the pullups. I'm using a step for assistance, and I want to make sure I'm working my back muscles as hard as I can. Towards the end of the main workout I was thinking I was done until I remembered Ab Ripper X. Ahh! What a bummer! I did well during the abs though, so that's good. The hardest for me is actually the oblique crunches towards the end. I have to take a little break. The wide leg sit up with the cross over is getting much better for me. I'm happy about that! Overall I burned 714 calories! For all of last week, I burned 5286 calories!!! Isn't that insane?
Finals are over and I have spring break until March 15. Woo hoo! I'm going home, so i have to pack up all my P90X stuff. I have bands, so I'm going to use those while I'm gone instead of weights. I'm going to bring my pullup bar with me too.
Tomorrow is plyo... we'll see if that feels better than last week! I'm going to do it first thing in the morning because I have a 5 hour drive home to do tomorrow and I'd like to be home by dinner. Time for a recovery shake!

Day 1 - Chest & Back + Ab Ripper X!
Okay, so I did Day 1 today, and I have to say I feel good! It was definitely difficult, but I didn't get discouraged at all. I tried to concentrate on good form as much as possible. When I couldn't keep good form, I rested and if there was time, I pushed out a few more reps. I *know* I'll be sore tomorrow, but that means I worked! I loved the neck stretches we did in the beginning... I think I'll do those whenever my neck feels a little tight. As for the push ups, I had the most difficulty with the decline pushups and the dive bomber. Practice will have to make perfect with those! It's pretty cool to watch them do the dive bombers though... WOW. I want to be able to do that! As for the pull ups, I used a chair to help me, but I really feel it in my muscles, so I'm hoping it did something for my back. I felt like I was using my legs to assist me sometimes... hmm. I think next time I'm going to put a step underneath me because my chair slid around a little. Ab Ripper X was pretty rough but I can tell I'll get better at that too. We shall see how everything feels tomorrow! All in all, I'm proud of myself! I drank a TON of water! I still need to get recovery drink. I'll have to check into that later. I used my heart rate monitor too, and it said I burned 910 calories! AWESOME!!! And it's only 4:30! Time to do some laundry and some studying... Ahhhh.... I feel so accomplished!
